Overview

In this QRG article we will review the procedure of when "Why is the count incorrect" message displayed when performing Controlled Substance Count.


Why is the Count Incorrect for the Order?

This error is displayed when while performing Controlled Substance Count the incorrect medication count is entered.  


Depending on configurations enabled at your facility you may not see all the above options. To resolve this error select one of the following and select the save button.


'I mistakenly typed the wrong count. I want to re-enter.'

  • Choose this to re-enter the count until the max retries are reached.
Note: This only applies if the community has enabled this feature and has setup retries in the configurations.


'The order was administered but not recorded.'

  • Choose this to document a missed administrations.


The discrepancy is due to a wasted item.

  • Choose this option if an item was wasted but not documented.


I'm not sure why the count is incorrect. We need to look into it.


Note: Choosing this option will inactivate the order until an administrator reconciles the count in Aline eMAR (ACCUflo).
